Armenian Grandmaster Shant Sargsyan scored a remarkable victory over world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the seventh round of the 2026 FIDE World Rapid Team Championship currently underway in Hong Kong.
The FIDE World Rapid Team Championship, which opened on June 16 in Hong Kong, has brought together more than 40 teams and over 300 players from around the world, featuring elite grandmasters, top women players, rising stars and amateur participants competing side by side in a unique team format.
