Armenian PM to attend Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Kyrgyzstan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that he will participate in the upcoming meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, scheduled to take place on August 15 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of import restrictions imposed by Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) on several Armenian products.

Speaking to reporters, Pashinyan said the issue would be addressed through the mechanisms of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

“I will participate in that meeting, and as I have already said, we will deal with those issues. In fact, we are already working on them today. The EAEU institutions are functioning,” the Prime Minister stated.

According to Pashinyan, such matters are part of the normal and ongoing processes within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Armenian government will continue to engage in discussions through the Union’s institutional channels.
