Turkey’s Special Representative for the Armenia-Turkey normalization process, Serdar Kılıç, has congratulated Ruben Rubinyan on his election as Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly.
In a post on X, Kılıç described Rubinyan as his counterpart in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process and recalled the close cooperation they had built over the past four years.
“I congratulate Ruben Rubinyan, my counterpart in the Turkey-Armenia normalization process, on his election as Speaker of the Parliament of Armenia. Over the past four years, we have established a productive working culture and a sincere friendship. I wish him continued success in his new position,” Kılıç wrote.
Rubinyan has served as Armenia’s special envoy in the normalization talks with Turkey since the process was launched in late 2021. During that time, he and Kılıç have held multiple rounds of negotiations aimed at normalizing bilateral relations, including discussions on reopening the land border for third-country nationals and holders of diplomatic passports, expanding direct contacts, and advancing other confidence-building measures.
