
Head of Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate Tigran Petrosyan hosted Rishan Chaudhry, Agricultural Affairs (USDA) Trade Representative at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Demna Dzirkvadze, Senior Agricultural Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Georgia, and Edward Eichler, Head of the Economic and Commercial Section at the U.S. Embassy in Armenia.
The meeting focused on a range of issues related to agricultural trade, including exports of agricultural products and flowers from Armenia to the United States, as well as shipments transiting through Türkiye to third countries. The participants also discussed the issuance of phytosanitary certificates, product traceability, registration of businesses in the TRACES system, maximum residue limits for food products, and the development of laboratory capacities.
Reviewing challenges that hinder the further development of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and the United States, the sides stressed the importance of taking joint steps to address existing obstacles.
The participants agreed to deepen cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries, with the aim of boosting bilateral trade, strengthening economic ties, and promoting broader market development.
