Dutch PM Jetten congratulates Pashinyan, backs Armenia’s European course

Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his electoral victory, describing the results as a strong endorsement of his agenda for peace, regional connectivity, and closer cooperation with the European Union.

In a message posted on social media, Jetten said the outcome of Armenia’s parliamentary elections reflected public support for the government’s strategic priorities.

“I want to congratulate Nikol Pashinyan on his electoral victory. These results are a clear endorsement of his agenda of regional peace, connectivity, and increased EU-Armenia cooperation,” Jetten wrote.

The Dutch prime minister also reaffirmed the Netherlands’ support for Armenia’s ongoing democratic development and reform efforts.

“The Netherlands supports Armenia as it actively works to advance human rights, democracy, and the rule of law,” he said.

Jetten’s statement adds to a growing number of congratulatory messages from European leaders following Armenia’s parliamentary elections, in which the ruling Civil Contract Party secured victory according to preliminary results.
