The election headquarters of the Prosperous Armenia Party has announced that it will use all available legal mechanisms to seek recounts and pursue the investigation of alleged electoral violations following Armenia’s parliamentary elections.
In a statement, the party said it is currently finalizing the list of polling stations where recounts will be requested and is reviewing grounds for appealing specific decisions and actions related to the electoral process.
“At present, we are finalizing the polling stations where recounts will be demanded, while also discussing the grounds for challenging certain decisions and actions,” Prosperous Armenia Spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan said in a statement.
The move comes as Prosperous Armenia’s parliamentary representation remains uncertain. According to preliminary results announced by the Central Electoral Commission, the party received 58,388 votes, or 3.996% of the total vote – narrowly below the 4% threshold required for political parties to enter parliament.
Prosperous Armenia alleged that “various arithmetic manipulations” had been carried out regarding the calculation of its votes and insisted that the announced figures warrant closer scrutiny.
The party did not provide specific details regarding the alleged discrepancies but said it would continue to pursue all legal avenues available under Armenia’s electoral legislation.
The recount and appeals process is expected to be closely watched, as even a small adjustment in the final vote tally could prove decisive for a party sitting just fractions of a percentage point below the electoral threshold.
