Donald Trump lands in Beijing for a high-stakes two-day visit with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, the BBC reports.
Trump was greeted on the tarmac by Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng as well as flag wavers chanting “welcome.”
The US president is accompanied by tech bosses, including Tesla’s Elon Musk and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang – before his arrival he said he would ask China to “open up” to US industry.
Tariffs, the competition over tech, the Iran war and Taiwan are on the agenda for the two superpowers.
This visit was originally scheduled for March but was delayed because of the Iran war.
