Nine people have been killed and 25 injured in related shootings at a school and home in western Canada, police say, the BBC reports.
Seven were fatally wounded at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, while the other two victims were found at the nearby residence – authorities have not given their names or ages.
The suspect was also found dead with a self‑inflicted injury, according to officials.
Authorities say they know the attacker’s identity but have not revealed their name and gender – earlier, a shelter-in-place alert described the suspect as a “female in a dress with brown hair.”
Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney says he is “devastated” by “today’s horrific shootings”, as he suspended a planned trip to Germany.
Police have not identified the type of gun used in the attack.
