Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has offered condolences over the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
“Deeply saddened by the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Armenia strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friendly people of India,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
Twenty-six people were killed and 17 were injured when suspected militants opened fire at tourists in India’s Jammu and Kashmir territory, police said on Wednesday, the worst such attack in the country in nearly two decades, Reuters reports.
The attack happened on Tuesday in Pahalgam, a Himalayan town famous for its stunning valleys.
There’s been no official confirmation yet on who carried out Tuesday’s brutal attack in Pahalgam.
However, media reports citing federal intelligence sources say The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadowy outfit linked to Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, may have claimed responsibility.
