
The EU-Armenia visa liberalization talks will enter the next phase in April, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannsiayn said at the sitting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on European Integration.
Negotiations continue with the next phase planned to take place on April 7-11, when the second EU delegation is expected to visit the country, the Deputy FM said.
He refrained from mentioning a concrete timeframe for the completion of negotiations, but added that the experience of other countries shows that the process takes approximately 3-6 years.
“We are well prepared for the negotiations. Our partners in various ministries are duly prepared, we are trying to take some steps before the start of the talks. Even our European partners are pleasantly surprised by the level of our readiness,” the Deputy Minister said.
He stressed he the issue remains high on the agenda.
