Armenia to deliver humanitarian aid to Syria through Margara checkpoint on Turkey border

The Margara checkpoint on the Armenian-Turkish border will be opened from March 21 to 31 to transport humanitarian cargo to Syria through Turkish territory. The decision was adopted during the Government sitting today.

The issue of provision of humanitarian aid was discussed during working meetings between the relevant departments of Armenia and Syria.

According to the Government, at the moment, the Margara checkpoint is not operational, and the current legal regulations make it impossible for cargo and vehicles to pass through the specified border point. This decision will create an opportunity to deliver humanitarian aid to Syria quickly and at lower costs.
