Armenian-American Grandmaster Levon Aronian has won the Biel Chess Festival 2026, the Chess Federation of Armenia announced.
The prestigious tournament featured competition across three formats – classical, rapid, and blitz – with the overall champion determined by the combined results of all three events.
Aronian emerged as the overall winner after delivering the strongest cumulative performance throughout the festival.
Congratulating the grandmaster on his latest success, the Chess Federation of Armenia wished Aronian many more victories in his future career.
The Biel Chess Festival, held annually in Switzerland, is one of Europe’s longest-running and most prestigious international chess events, attracting leading grandmasters from around the world.
