The Hayastan Alliance parliamentary faction has elected Anna Grigoryan as its new leader and Artur Khachatryan as faction secretary during a meeting chaired by the alliance’s leader, former President Robert Kocharyan.
According to the alliance, the meeting brought together members of the Hayastan faction to discuss the group’s upcoming priorities and activities.
During the meeting, lawmakers elected Grigoryan to head the parliamentary faction, while Khachatryan was chosen to serve as its secretary.
The newly elected National Assembly was formed following Armenia’s June 7 parliamentary elections. According to the final results announced by the Central Electoral Commission, three political forces are represented in parliament: the ruling Civil Contract Party, the Strong Armenia Alliance, and the Hayastan Alliance. The Civil Contract Party holds 64 seats, giving it a parliamentary majority, while the Strong Armenia Alliance has 29 seats and the Hayastan Alliance 12 seats in the 105-member legislature.
