At 20:00 today, the annual torchlight procession commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide began in Republic Square, on the eve of the 111th anniversary of the tragedy.
Held under the slogan “The Struggle Continues,” this year’s march symbolizes the enduring will of the Armenian people and their unwavering pursuit of justice and recognition.
Participants are proceeding along a central route through the capital, moving from Republic Square via Amiryan Street, Mashtots Avenue, Baghramyan Avenue, and Kievyan Street, before concluding at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, the national memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
The torchlight march has become a significant annual event, drawing thousands of participants who carry torches as a symbol of remembrance, unity, and resilience. It traditionally takes place on the evening of April 23, ahead of the official commemoration day on April 24.
