Armenia, Cyprus bound by centuries-old friendship: Pashinyan congratulates Christodoulides on Independence Day

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has extended warm congratulations to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

In his message, Pashinyan conveyed greetings on behalf of the people of Armenia and himself, marking the 65th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus.

“This day symbolizes not only the country’s path to sovereignty and democracy, but is also an occasion to appreciate the determination of the Cypriot people to defend their freedom, dignity and principles,” the Prime Minister stated.

Highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, Pashinyan noted that Armenia and Cyprus are bound by “centuries-old friendship, mutual trust and common values.” He emphasized that the recent establishment of resident embassies in Yerevan and Nicosia opens a “new and promising stage in bilateral relations,” reaffirming both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.

Concluding his message, Pashinyan wished President Christodoulides health and success, as well as continued progress for Cyprus, including a fruitful upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union. He also conveyed his hopes for “unity and prosperity” to the people of Cyprus.
