France’s parliament looks likely to remove Prime Minister François Bayrou on Monday, following only nine months in office, after the PM surprised even his own allies by calling a confidence vote to resolve a months-long deadlock over his austerity budget, France 24 reports.
Should Bayrou lose, he must resign along with his entire government, plunging France into new political turmoil.
