Armenian, Iranian Security Chiefs discuss bilateral cooperation, regional stability

Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan held a telephone conversation with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the call, Armen Grigoryan expressed his condolences over the loss of lives resulting from the 12-day Israel-Iran conflict and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The two officials discussed key items on the agenda of Armenia-Iran bilateral cooperation. Secretary Grigoryan reaffirmed Armenia’s position on the unblocking of regional transport routes, emphasizing that it must be based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction.

Secretary Ahmadian, in turn, reaffirmed Iran’s consistent stance on the issue and voiced support for Armenia’s position.

The conversation also touched on recent regional developments. Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region.
