On June 3, through the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, the Governorate of Aleppo delivered humanitarian aid – sent by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and other humanitarian organizations operating in Aleppo – to the Armenian National Օrphanage and the Armenian Nursing Home, Kantsasar reports.
Armenia sent 80 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria in March 2025 as a result of an agreement between Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaybani and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan during the latter’s visit to Syria in January 2025. At the time, an agreement was reached between the Armenian Consulate General in Aleppo and the Governor of Aleppo to allocate a portion of the aid to the National Orphanage and the Armenian Nursing Home.
Khaled Mohammad, a representative of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor of Aleppo, said:
“Under the guidance of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor of Aleppo, today we delivered humanitarian aid to the Holy Mother of God Church, so that it can benefit the elderly in the Armenian Nursing Home and the children in the National Orphanage who are under the care of the church.”
