An agreement on the text of the draft Agreement “On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” has been reached and the negotiations on the draft agreement have been completed, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has confirmed.
The Ministry said it conveyed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan through diplomatic channels that the Republic of Armenia accepts Azerbaijan’s proposals on the two uncoordinated articles of the draft agreement and proposed to issue a joint statement on the completion of negotiations on the draft agreement.
“Official Baku preferred to issue a unilateral statement,” the Ministry said in a statement.
“Thus, the Peace Agreement is ready for signing. The Republic of Armenia is ready to begin consultations with the Republic of Azerbaijan on the dates and place of signing the Agreement,” it stated.
Earlier today Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said the parties had agreed on the terms of a draft peace treaty.
