Armenian Deputy PM highlights growing Armenia-US partnership at US Independence Day reception

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan attended a reception marking the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States on June 25, where he congratulated the American people and highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Armenia and the US.

Speaking at the event, Grigoryan said the values of freedom, independence and equality, on which the United States was founded 250 years ago, continue to play an important role in strengthening the country’s international standing and its close friendship with Armenia.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Armenia-US agenda has been enriched by significant achievements in 2025 and 2026. He described the Joint Declaration signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025, in the presence of the US President, as an important milestone with a significant impact on both the parties and the broader region.

Grigoryan noted that, with the active engagement of the United States, Armenia and the South Caucasus have entered “a new era of peace and stability.” He pointed to the recent visits to Armenia by US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the signing of the Comprehensive Partnership Charter, several memorandums of understanding, and the Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation for the TRIPP project as evidence of the deepening bilateral relationship.

He said that, in addition to serving as an important guarantee of peace, the TRIPP project would become a key hub for regional and global transport routes.

The Deputy Prime Minister also congratulated the Armenian-American community, praising its contribution to the development of the United States while strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two nations.

Concluding his remarks, Grigoryan wished the American people lasting peace, prosperity and well-being.
