French Senator Yannick Jadot calls on the French government to boycott COP29 climate conference in Baku.
“COP29Azerbaijan is not only the instrument of legitimization of a dictatorship but also a tool for the regime to promote its oil industry, against the climate,” Yannick Jadot said on Senate floor.
“The climate emergency requires international cooperation. But not by serving a dictatorship guilty of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh, which represses the political opposition and threatens civil society,” he said.
“The government must boycott the COP! For the climate, for human rights, for the Armenian people, it is time to practice a diplomacy of courage and human rights,” the Senator stated.
