Azerbaijan is trying to delay the peace process and bring it to a dead end, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The comments come after Armenian soldier Gerasim Arakelyan was shot dead by an Azerbaijani sniper on the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border in the direction of the Vayots Dzor region of the Republic of Armenia.
“By carrying out such provocations on the border, as well as by continuously rejecting the offers of various international actors to continue the negotiations, the Azerbaijani side is trying to delay the peace process and bring it to a dead end,” the Foreign Ministry said.
“We strongly condemn these actions of the Azerbaijani side aimed at provoking a new escalation, delaying the peace process and bringing it to a dead end,” it stated.
