Magnitude 5.9 earthquake jolts eastern Iran
A 5.9 magnitude earthquake shook eastern Iran at 06:32 local time Friday, the Armenia National Survey for Seismic Protection reported.
The quake that hit just north of the city of Kerman at a depth of around 10 kilometers measured 7-8 at the epicenter.
There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties.
The tremors were not felt in Armenia.
The quake comes less than a month after an earthquake struck the border region between Iran and Iraq, killing more than 400 people.
