Ilja Laurs, Chairman of the Nextury Ventures Company, which invests in early stage startups and new fast growth and high potential value ideas, has arrived in Armenia to meet with representatives of shortlisted Armenian startrups. The visit has been organized by Rena Saribekian, representative of the Development Foundation of Armenia for the Baltic States.
lya Laurs’s “Nextury Ventures” Capital Investments Company previously studied the capacities of Armenian start-ups in smart sports, 3D printing, entertainment, financial technology, mobile and human resource management spheres and has come to our country with a short list of companies of investment interest and the DFA official representative held meetings with their heads.
Ilja Laurs, an entrepreneur and investor who has created dozens of businesses in his career, visited the IBM Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center for a sales pitch. One of the best managers in Europe will also hold a master class for representatives of the field, will have meetings at the Microsoft Innovation Center, the Armenian National Engineering Laboratories, Synopsis Company and Tumo Center for Creative Technologies.
Besides meeting with startup companies, Ilya Laurs is also discussing ways to invest in international venture companies functioning in Armenia.
The Wall Street Journal and Forbes have named Ilja Laurs among 25 European Tech Leaders. In 2011 the European Business Press recognized him as European Manager of the Year.
