The lead singer of Linkin Park dies aged 41

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park band, has died of suspected suicide at his private residence in Los Angeles County Thursday morning. He was 41 years old.

Bennington joined the group in 1999. The band’s debut album “Hybrid Theory” was nominated for a Grammy award for best rock album. Their second album, “Meteora”, has sold over 27m units.

In past interviews, Bennington has spoken candidly about his struggles with drugs and alcohol as well as his abusive childhood.

Bennington is survived by six children.
