Russia remains committed to promoting peace and stability in the South Caucasus and is ready to facilitate the full normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Russian Foreign Ministry said ahead of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s official visit to Moscow.
“For us, peace and stability in the South Caucasus are important. As before, we are ready to provide the assistance that may be needed for the full normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including on the conclusion of a peace treaty, border delimitation, and the unblocking of transport communications,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the “roadmaps” for these processes are contained in the trilateral statements signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan between 2020 and 2022.
Bayramov is expected to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, with bilateral relations and regional issues, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, expected to be on the agenda.
