International Republican Institute delegation to observe Armenia’s parliamentary elections

The International Republican Institute (IRI), a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing democracy and freedom globally, is deploying a delegation of international election observers to Yerevan, Armenia from June 3 to 8, 2026, to assess the conduct of the June 7 parliamentary elections.

This high-level mission, led by National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Chairman and former U.S. Representative Peter Roskam (R-IL), will arrive in Yerevan on June 3 to join IRI’s long-term election observers and meet with a broad range of stakeholders, including election authorities, ruling and opposition political parties, civil society actors, journalists, diplomatic missions, and government institutions involved in election administration and enforcement.

The mission will present its preliminary findings at a press conference in Yerevan on June 8. Initial findings and recommendations will build on IRI’s pre-election assessment conducted in April, which evaluated the conditions for credible elections ahead of the June 7 vote. The mission’s final report, which will offer an impartial assessment of the quality and conduct of electoral processes, including thematic findings and recommendations from the pre-election period and Election Day administration, will be released in the weeks following the election.
