OpenAI, Meta, Mistral AI: Armenia explores partnerships with global tech leaders at New Delhi Summit

Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry, Gevorg Mantashyan met with leaders of world’s most influential technology companies on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

A key highlight of the visit was Mantashyan’s meetings with top executives shaping the global AI landscape. He held talks with Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI to discuss opportunities for cooperation in advancing AI capabilities and fostering responsible innovation. The conversation also touched on the role of emerging markets like Armenia in the global AI ecosystem.

Mantashyan also met Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, where discussions focused on the safe and ethical development of artificial intelligence systems. The sides explored potential avenues for collaboration in AI governance frameworks and research initiatives aligned with international best practices.

In another important meeting, Mantashyan engaged with Arthur Mensch, CEO and co-founder of Mistral AI. Talks centered on cutting-edge AI models, open innovation, and the prospects for integrating advanced AI solutions into Armenia’s growing tech sector.

Beyond AI-focused firms, Mantashyan expanded dialogue with major global technology corporations. He met representatives of Meta, including Vice President Sandhya Devanathan, to discuss digital platforms, innovation ecosystems, and the role of AI in connecting global communities. Engagements with regional directors of Microsoft and LinkedIn further emphasized Armenia’s interest in leveraging international expertise to accelerate digital transformation and workforce development.

At the conclusion of the summit, a joint declaration (“Summit Declaration”) was adopted, through which participating countries and international organizations reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and outlined a shared vision for the responsible, safe, and trustworthy use of AI.

The declaration highlights several priority areas for cooperation, including the democratization of AI resources and expanding access to them; the use of AI to promote economic growth and social well-being; the development of safe and reliable AI systems; the effective use of AI in research activities; ensuring social inclusion; developing human capital and enhancing skills; as well as building energy-efficient and resilient AI infrastructure.
