The 39th Surajkund International Crafts Mela is being held in Faridabad, India, from January 31 to February 15, 2026, bringing together cultural heritage and master artisans from around the world.
Armenia’s participation in this prestigious international festival-fair is supported financially by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. Representing the country are handicraft masters from the Hovhannes Sharambeyan Folk Arts Museum – Armenuhi Khachatryan, Ovsanna Papikyan, and Armine Poghosyan.

The Armenian pavilion features a rich display of traditional textiles, including carpets, embroidery, and felt works, alongside decorative and applied art pieces and souvenirs that reflect the depth of Armenia’s folk art heritage.
As part of the festival program, the Armenian artisans are also conducting master classes in handicrafts, offering international visitors the opportunity to engage directly with and learn about the unique techniques and traditions of Armenian craftsmanship.
Armenia’s involvement in the festival contributes to fostering new prospects for cooperation between folk artists of Armenia and other countries, enhancing the international visibility of Armenian folk art, and strengthening cultural ties between Armenia and India — highlighting the historical and cultural affinities between the two nations.
