Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, toured the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.
He was accompanied by Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. During the visit, Pashinyan explored the museum’s halls and viewed the exhibits on display. The Armenian Prime Minister also made an entry in the museum’s guestbook.
As a gesture of cultural diplomacy, Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the National Museum of Kazakhstan with a bear-shaped wine-pouring vessel dating back to the 1st–2nd centuries AD. The original artifact is housed in the History Museum of Armenia.
The piece was discovered in the 1980s during excavations in the artisan quarter on the 8th hill of Artashat, the ancient Armenian capital. From one room of this district alone, archaeologists unearthed hundreds of items, including vessels, bowls, painted plates, and a gem, underscoring the area’s rich historical and cultural significance.
