Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated President Ursula von der Leyen on the formation of the new College of Commissioners.
“The Armenian Government is looking forward to work closely with the new EU Commission to advance Armenia-EU partnership to the new heights,” PM Pashinyan said in a post on X.
A majority of Members of the European Parliament gave on Wednesday the final approval to the new European Commission of Ursula von der Leyen, allowing the executive to take office on 1 December and kick-start the five-year legislative cycle.
The proposed Commission obtained 370 votes in favor, 282 against and 36 abstentions from lawmakers in Strasbourg, enough to pass.
