Armenian Culture Ministry offers condolences over Alain Delon death

The Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has offered condolences over the death of French cinema legend Alain Delon.

“It is with deep sadness that we learned that Alain Delon, a true symbol of French cinema, who touched thousands of hearts all over the world, has passed away. His emotional attitude towards Armenia and the Armenian people will forever be engraved in our memories and hearts,” the Ministry said in a social media post.

French film legend Alain Delon died on Sunday, August 18, at the age of 88.

The actor was a star of the golden era of French cinema, known for his tough-guy persona on screen in hits including The Samurai and Borsalino.

“He passed away peacefully in his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and his family,” a statement released to AFP news agency said, adding that the family had asked for privacy.
