In a letter to Armenian parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has welcomed the desire of Armenia to enhance relations with the EU.
“The European Parliament recognizes and welcomes the fact that Armenia has strongly emphasized the desire to enhance and priorities relations with the European Union. The newly agreed EU-Armenia Partnership Agenda as well as the launching of a dialogue on visa liberalization with Armenia are clear signs of our enhanced relations,” Roberta Metsola wrote.
“I hope that the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will have the opportunity to resume its relations with the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with the South Caucasus countries following the latter’s forthcoming constitutive meeting now that the newly-elected Members of the European Parliament have taken up their office. I trust that this will provide a key forum for furthering inter-parliamentary cooperation,” the President of the European Parliament said.
