Russia is selling the kind of weapons to Armenia no other country sells, Leonid Kalashnokov, head of the Russian State Duma’s Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, told reporters in Armenia today.
Responding to concerns related to the sale of Russian weapons to Azerbaijan, Kalashnikov said: “Russia sells weapons not only to Azerbaijan, it sells to its partners and allies, including Armenia. We sell more to Armenia and sell the kind of weapons no other country sells.”
He said Azerbaijan is also concerned by Russian arms sale to Armenia. Kalashnikov noted that the issue of weapons supply was not on the agenda of the sitting.
“It is a matter to be discussed by the heads of state,” he noted.
