Armenia’s former Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan will be detained after the National Security Service (NSS) completes the search at his premises, National Security Chief Artur Vanetsyan told reporters today.
The NSS has been searching Khachatryan’s house, as well as other premises owned by the ex-official.
A criminal case on charges of abuse of power and embezzlement of particularly large scale has been initiated, but the indictment could be changed, Vanetsyan said.
He added that Gagik Khachatryan has been summoned to the Investigation Department several times and questioned as a witness.
