The Armenian Government has held a special sitting to discuss the transportation of Armenian tourists stranded in Egypt because of the cancelled flights.
Within nine months, the government will allocate 47 million AMD from its reserve funds to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to cover the transportation expenses.
The Government said 119 Armenian citizens are left in Egypt after the flight OTF 3703 was cancelled because of the failure of the Armenian A&R tour operator to pay the Greek Orange to Fly aircompany.
The same air company’s July 29th flight has also been cancelled, which means another 100 tourists will face problems.
The Armenian Embassy has reached agreement with the Greek SpotAir Company on organizing two flights from Hurgada to Yerevan on July 26 and July 29.
The air company has demanded a cash payment amounting to USD 47,121 to operate the first flight. It has also demanded to make a bank transfer before the second flight.
The Government has found it expedient to agree to the terms provided by SpotAir.
