Armenia stands in solidarity with every person forced to flee home – MFA

On World Refugee Day, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has underscored the importance of coordinated efforts by the international community in addressing rights and challenges faced by refugees.

“Only through genuine cooperation and shared responsibility can we ensure sustainable solutions,” the Ministry said in a post on X.

“Armenia stands in solidarity with every person forced to flee their home,” it added.

World Refugee Day is observed every year on June 20 to honor the strength, courage, and resilience of millions of refugees around the world. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2000, with the first official celebration taking place in 2001, marking the 50th anniversary of the 1951 UN Refugee Convention.

The official theme for World Refugee Day 2025, as designated by UNHCR, is “Solidarity with refugees.”

This theme highlights the urgent need for collective global support – beyond words – to safeguard the safety, dignity, and lives of refugees. It calls on individuals, communities, and governments to pool efforts in welcoming and protecting those forced to flee their homes.
