
On an official visit to Kazakhstan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Issues on the agenda of bilateral relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan were discussed. The active dynamics of the recent high-level political dialogue were highlighted, reference was made to the process of implementing the agreements reached.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev exchanged views on the work towards development of strategic partnership between the two countries and further expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The implementation of joint initiatives in the sectors of economy, trade, transport, innovation, and education was emphasized.
In the context of ensuring economic development and connectivity, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of efforts aimed at the effective use of transport and logistics channels and increasing cargo transportation volumes.
The Armenian Foreign Minister and the Kazakh President also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
Minister Mirzoyan highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s position in advancing the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in particular, in signing a peace treaty. Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that Armenia is ready to sign the treaty, which will be possible if both sides demonstrate political will.
