The new Isakov-Arshakunyats section of the road will be built to regulate large traffic flows and reduce traffic jams in Yerevan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said in a Facebook post.
According to the Mayor, it will connect the three administrative districts of the capital, creating an opportunity to significantly shorten the existing road.
Relevant credit and project implementation agreements have been signed between the Armenian Ministry of Finance, Yerevan Municipality and the Asian Development Bank.
“This is another important step towards the development of urban infrastructure, which we will implement together with our international partners,” Avinyan said.
