Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that he will not attend the Victory Day military parade scheduled to take place in Moscow on May 9. Pashinyan made the statement during a briefing with journalists on Thursday.
“I informed the Russian president during my visit to Russia in April that due to the election campaign, I would not be able to participate in the May 9 events,” the prime minister said.
Campaigning for Armenia’s parliamentary elections, set for June 7, will officially begin on May 8. Pashinyan has already announced that the ruling Civil Contract Party will campaign in Armenia’s Syunik Province on May 8 and 9.
