The 13th meeting of the commissions on the delimitation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and border security issues was held on April 29 in Aghveran, Armenia, under the chairmanship of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
The sides welcomed the fact that the 13th meeting of the commissions was once again taking place on the territory of one of the parties, this time in Armenia, in Aghveran.
During the meeting, the parties held detailed discussions on organizational and technical issues related to the border delimitation process.
They agreed on and exchanged draft texts of the following guidelines concerning the implementation of delimitation work: the guideline on the procedures for the work of expert groups during the delimitation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the guideline on the procedure for creating the delimitation map, and the guideline on the preparation and publication of delimitation documents.
The sides agreed to apply to their respective governments for the approval of these guidelines.
Grigoryan and Mustafayev also separately exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
It was noted that the transit of cargo to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan is being carried out successfully and is currently ongoing.
The sides also welcomed that Azerbaijan is supplying petroleum products to Armenia, describing it as evidence of the formation of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
A separate discussion was also held with the participation of representatives of business circles from both sides on the development of trade and economic cooperation, mutual supply of goods and services, and transit transportation.
It was especially emphasized that the achieved results had become possible thanks to the political will of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Following the meeting, the parties signed the relevant protocol and agreed to coordinate the date of the next meeting, which will be held in Azerbaijan, through working channels.
