A new batch of 100 satellite internet terminals provided by the American company Starlink has arrived in Armenia, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan announced on Facebook.
The terminals were donated to the Armenian government as part of cooperation between Starlink and Armenia’s Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
According to the minister, installation of the equipment will begin in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, with priority given to schools where reliable internet access is most needed.
“Our goal is clear: every student, even in the most remote communities, should have equal access to modern educational tools and digital platforms,” Hayrapetyan said.
The initiative aims to improve connectivity in rural and hard-to-reach areas, enabling schools to access stable, high-speed internet through satellite technology.
Starlink, a satellite internet service developed by SpaceX, provides broadband connectivity via a network of low-Earth-orbit satellites and has been increasingly used worldwide to support internet access in areas lacking traditional infrastructure.
