Armenia, EU advance strategic agenda, prepare for Yerevan summit

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos in Brussels.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the implementation of the Armenia–EU Strategic Agenda adopted in December last year.

Detailed discussions were held on the agenda of the Armenia–EU Summit to be held in Yerevan in May, as well as on upcoming high-level visits. Both sides emphasized their mutual readiness to implement initiatives aimed at delivering new tangible results.

The parties commended the decision of the EU Council to provide Armenia with second-phase assistance under the European Peace Facility.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Marta Kos discussed ongoing efforts toward democratic reforms and the strengthening of resilience.

The Armenian foreign minister and the EU commissioner also touched upon programs aimed at developing connectivity and infrastructure in the context of peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as other steps toward the further institutionalization of peace in the region.
