Armenian Ambassador, Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister of Greece discuss peace efforts, bilateral cooperation

On October 24, Armenia’s Ambassador to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with Pavlos Marinakis, Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister of Greece and Government Spokesperson of Greece, to discuss regional peace initiatives and the growing partnership between the two nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mkrtchyan outlined the content of the agreements reached in Washington in August between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States. He highlighted the regional and global importance of TRIPP, noting that the initiative aligns with the logic of the Armenian government’s proposed “Crossroads of Peace” project. The Ambassador expressed Armenia’s gratitude to Greece for its unwavering support for the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.

Mkrtchyan also reviewed the strong and expanding bilateral ties between Armenia and Greece, pointing to active cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture and defense. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum of high-level exchanges between officials of the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Marinakis welcomed the current level of relations between Armenia and Greece, including their collaboration on international platforms. He underscored the importance of the agreements achieved in Washington, and expressed hope for their swift implementation. Marinakis also commended the Armenian government’s commitment to effectively advancing reforms in the country.

The sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue strengthening the strategic partnership between Armenia and Greece in support of regional stability and mutual development.
