A fire that broke out in the Sari Tagh district of Yerevan has been successfully contained, according to a statement from the spokesperson of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan.
“Firefighters managed to prevent the spread of the blaze. The threat of the fire reaching nearby residential houses has been neutralized. Firefighting efforts are still ongoing,” Sargsyan said.
The National Center for Crisis Management received an emergency call about the fire at 11:33 a.m. on July 29. In response, four firefighting units from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dispatched to the scene, along with an on-duty team from the Department for Firefighting and Rescue Operations Coordination.
No casualties have been reported, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
