Donald Trump says the US will send “various pieces” of “very sophisticated” military equipment to Ukraine, the BBC reports.
Speaking on Sunday night, the US president confirmed the equipment will include Patriot missile defence systems, “which they [Ukraine] desperately need.”
Trump also criticised Russia’s President Putin, saying he “really surprised a lot of people – he talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening.”
Trump says the US will be reimbursed “100%” for the latest supplies, adding: “That’s the way it should have been a long time ago.”
