
Ambassador of Armenia to Belgium Tigran Balayan held a meeting with members of the Belgium-Armenia Friendship Group of the Belgian Senate and House of Representatives, led by Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee Els Van Hoof.
The discussions focused on the deepening of Armenia-Belgium partnership and the crucial role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Belgian parliamentarians presented to Ambassador Balayan the draft resolution titled “The Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Need to Establish Peace in the South Caucasus.” The resolution was unanimously adopted by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian House of Representatives on July 2 and is expected to be submitted to the full Parliament for approval.
In this context, Ambassador Balayan highlighted Armenia’s ongoing efforts to establish lasting and stable peace in the region through the normalization of relations with neighboring countries.
Belgian lawmakers reaffirmed their strong support for Armenia’s sovereignty and democratic values, noting that the forthcoming resolution sends a clear, united message from across Belgium’s political spectrum.
