Firebird AI co-founder Razmik Hovaghimian granted Armenian citizenship

One of the most influential Armenian figures in Silicon Valley, Razmik Hovaghimian, has been granted citizenship of the Republic of Armenia. The passport was officially handed over by Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

Razmik Hovaghimian is the co-founder of Firebird AI and a serial entrepreneur behind several successful tech ventures. He has held senior leadership positions at the Japanese tech giant Rakuten, contributing to the management of its global initiatives.

Beyond his accomplishments in the tech sector, Hovaghimian is also actively engaged in social and educational projects. He collaborates with the Leo Messi Foundation, established by football star Lionel Messi, and is the co-founder and CEO of Play Time Sports-Tech Holding. The company focuses on innovation and digital solutions at the intersection of sports and technology.

As part of his latest endeavor, Hovaghimian and Firebird AI are planning to invest approximately $500 million in Armenia to establish a large-scale artificial intelligence data center. The project is expected to significantly boost Armenia’s technological capacity and elevate the country’s standing in the global tech ecosystem.
