Vučić’s plane lands in Baku due to lack of permission to fly to Moscow

The plane of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić landed in Baku due to the lack of permission to continue the flight to Moscow because of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, Serbia’s Tanjug News Agency reports.

Aleksandar Vučić was flying to Moscow to attend the Victory Parade on Red Square.

Assistant to the President of Russia, Yuri Ushakov, said yesterday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold bilateral talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on May 9.

On May 9, the Victory Parade will mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Second World War.

Latvia and Lithuania earlier banned Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s aircraft from flying through their airspace due to the “political sensitivity of the flight’s purpose” and “technical and diplomatic sensitivities.”
