As part of the visit, a Viet Nam-Armenia roundtable discussion was held on April 2, attended by and opened with remarks from the Vice President of the Armenian National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan.
In his address, Hakob Arshakyan welcomed the visit of the Vietnamese National Assembly President and his high-level delegation to Armenia. In this context, he emphasized the importance of developing export and import dynamics, particularly in alcohol, fresh fruits, various agricultural products, and other goods, as well as promoting trade, services, and cooperation in high technologies, education, science, and other fields.
Arshakyan commended the rich history of cooperation between the two countries, dating back to the Soviet era and continuing after Armenia’s independence. He stressed the importance of preserving and strengthening the existing traditions in education, culture, and scientific collaboration.
“Thousands of Vietnamese students have studied at Armenian universities, and there has been mutual cooperation in educational and scientific spheres. In this regard, it is important to note the warm relations between our peoples, which can also serve as a strong foundation for the development of economic ties,” Arshakyan stated.
The Vice President of the Armenian National Assembly welcomed the creation of a platform for dialogue between business representatives through such initiatives and expressed confidence that economic development plays a key role in strengthening ties between the two nations at both the public and governmental levels.
According to Arshakyan, this high-level visit will provide new momentum for the development of economic, educational, cultural, and political relations between Armenia and Viet Nam. He referenced the recent visit of an Armenian parliamentary delegation to Viet Nam, led by National Assembly President Alen Simonyan, and expressed confidence that such high-level exchanges would continue, further fostering relations between the two countries and their peoples.
Vietnamese National Assembly President Trần Thanh Mẫn also delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, expanding economic ties, enhancing cooperation between business communities, and implementing new initiatives. The event was attended by members of the Armenian government, representatives of the Vietnamese government and National Assembly, as well as business leaders from both countries. Discussions focused on boosting economic ties and exploring prospects for new initiatives between the two states.
